National Cadet Corps (NCC)

Introduction

OurCollege NCC is operating under the open unit 5MAH EME COY NCC, Mumbai ‘A’ group. College provides the necessary infrastructure and the facilities to the students to take the Army training in the form of NCC. The College aims to see our NCC cadets be a part of the Armed forces of India at officer level and also attend Republic Day Camp which is prestigious one at New Delhi

The College provides the necessary infrastructure and the facilities to the students to take the Army training in the form of NCC. The college aims to see our NCC cadets be a Part of the Armed forces of India at officer level and also attend Republic Day Camp which is prestigious one at New Delhi. The NCC was first introduced in the College on 27th June 2010 by Lt.Col. Sunny Bakshi and the support of college Management with the strength of 40 cadets.

The aims of N.C.C. are as follows :

  • To develop character, comradeship, discipline, leadership, secular outlook, spirit of adventure, sportsmanship and ideas of selfless service amongst the youth of the country.

  • To create a human resource of Organized, trained and motivated youth to provide leadership in all walks of life and always be available for the service of the nation.

  • To provide us suitable environment to Motivate the youth to take up the careering the Armed force.

The training is presently carried under guidance of Lt. Col. Neeraj Kumar along with NCOs (Non Commissioned officers) and JCOs (Junior commissioned officers) and the senior ranking cadets SUO. Pawan S. Shetty, JUO. Surendra Kathayat and JUO. Gregory E.D’souza under the close observation of the unit care-taker Prof. Ajit Jadhav.

The most integral part of NCC training is conducted in the various camps which include rigorous Army training. Unlike ordinary camp, the camps organized by our unit are very adventurous and educative. Every cadet is expected to undertake at least 1 camp every year.

CATC-402 Camp Organized by college

5 MAH EME COY NCC of Mumbai A Group organized CATC-402 Camp (02/05/2015 TO 11/05/2015) in our college campus under the guidance of Lt. Col Neeraj Kumar (Camp Commandant) with support of Hon. Shri Rohidasji Patil (Founder Chairman of Shankar Narayan Education Trust).

  • Total 12 JCO’s, 4 ANO’ss and 6 civil staff attended the camp.

  • Total 375 cadets attended the camp from all over Mumbai ‘A’ group out of which 180 cadets from SD-boys, 40 cadets from JD-Boys, 120 cadets of SW-Girls and 35 JW-Girls.

Activities conducted during camp

  • Regular P.T was being conducted by PI-staff at 6.00 o’clock sharp.

  • Activity of Yoga and lectures was conducted by ANO’s on regular morning sessions.

  • Lectures regarding Rifle stripping and section formation was being conducted by PI-staff.

  • Drill of the cadets was being carried in college campus.

  • Game parade with games like football and cricket was enjoyed by the cadets.

  • Cultural activities like dance, singing, quiz, was being conducted by ANO’s.

Special events and Competitions during camp

  • Drill Competition was being organized which was judged by ANO’s – LT. Sunil Kadam, Major. Urmila Sarkar and PI-staff Hav. Manish Kumar.

  • Cultural Competition was organized, where the cadets participated actively under guidance of First Officer Dheeraj Gharat.

  • Rifle firing techniques and stripping was conducted under guidance of Sub. G.D Baral.

  • Rope Climbing sessions were conducted where the cadets where taught the techniques regarding trekking as well.

  • Mass-Yoga lectures and YOGA DAY was being celebrated on the camp duration.

  • ‘SAVE ENVIRONMENT’ rally was carried by the 350 cadets, 12 PI-staff, 4-ANO’s and the college Management and Teaching Staff from College campus to Bhayander Station.

Social Services

  • Our college 25 cadets were posted in Bhayandar Chaupati on 21st September 2015 for ‘Ganpati Emersion’.

  • Total 11 Cadets participated in ‘NCC Day’ celebration in Colaba on 22nd November 2015.

  • Our 13 cadets attended the ‘International Yoga Day’ celebration on 21st July 2015 in N.M College, Malad.

  • The cadets participated in ‘’Traffic safety campaign’’ organized by Kashimira Traffic Police on 22nd January 2016 in Golden nest Police chowki.

  • Our 27 cadets attended ‘’Traffic Safety Week’’ on 10 December 2015 orgnised by Thane Rural Police at Kashimira Police Station.

  • Each and every important function and activities of the college is supported by the N.C.C by providing cadets for ‘Ceremonial piloting’ and maintaining discipline like ANNUAL DAY, convocation ceremony, Cultural and sports programme.

  • Our Cadets actively participated in SAVE ENVIRONMENT Rally being organized during CATC-402 camp (9/5/2015) in our college.

  • Our one of best cadet Suryaprakash Yadav successfully attended 03 CATC cum RDC camp and also selected for 04th camp. RDC camp is prestigious camp in NCC tenure and to reach RDC pared at Delhi need selection in o6 consecutive camps. Our best wishes with him to reach Delhi for Republic Day Camp.

  • Our 12 cadets selected for Army Attachment camp scheduled on 07th Nov. 2016 to 23rd Nov. 2016 at Kharki, Pune.

  • Our regular participation in social occasion like deputation for Ganapati Emersion where 40 students assisted Traffic police, Mira Bhayander.

  • On the request of Velankani Trust, Uttan, Bhayander (West), our cadets supported Velankani Fair through their control and vigilance on 4th Sept. And 8th Sept. 2016, where 35 cadet were deputed in this regard.

  • On the occasion of ‘Fiest day’ Vailankani church has organized fair in which 40 cadets posted to manage traffic on  03-09-2016 and 04-09-2016 at Uttan, Bhayander.

  • 40 cadets were posted in Girgaon and Bhayander Chaupati on 15-09-2016 and 17-09-2016 and 21-09-2016 for ‘Ganpati Emersion’.

  • The cadets participated in NCC Day, organised in college premises also initiated SWACH BHARAT ABHIYAN SAPTAH . On this occasion we invited Honourable Founder Chairman of Shankar Narayan Education Trust, Shri Rohidasji Patil, , Honourable Secretary Shri. Maheshji Mhatre, and, Shrimati Kalpanatai Mhatre , Corporater of MBMP, Principal Dr.V.N Yadav, Teaching faculties and Students.

  • 30 Cadets participated in ‘Road Safety Program’ organized by Kashi-Mira Traffic Police on 15-01-2017.

  • 20  Cadets visited Mulla Auditorium at Colaba for the welcome of ceremony of cadets returning from ‘Republic Day Camp’ on 07-02-2017.

  • On the occasion of ‘Mahashivratri’, 26 cadets deputed in God Mahadev temple at Tungaresgwar, Vasai to assist Police for managing huge crowd of people on 25-02-2017.

  • The college activities are supported by the NCC by providing cadets for Ceremonial piloting and to maintain discipline in various functions like Annual Day, Monsoon Mega Marathon, Convocation ceremony, Cultural and Sports program.
