Rohidas Patil Institute of Management Studies is the latest addition to Shankar Narayan Education Trust that was established in the year 1993, under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Shri Rohidasji Patil alias Kakashri who is a philanthropist, an industrialist and the founder chairman of the Trust. The Trust has always stood for quality and excellence in the society. The Trust runs a degree college, a junior college, a polytechnic and an institute for administrative careers imparting education through professional self-finance courses and post graduate courses and training for civil services examinations. The different institutes have about 7300 plus students from rural areas near Mira and Bhayandar.

The institute is affiliated to University of Mumbai for the Master of Management Studies (MMS) Program and is approved by statutory authorities like AICTE, DTE and Government of Maharashtra. The institute has an excellent supporting infrastructure in the form of a separate spacious seven storied building, a well equipped library with over 6676 volumes, 24 international management journals, 66 national management journals, a well equipped computer centre, a gymkhana, air-conditioned classrooms, a conference hall, a seminar hall, a placement cell, subject departments, a well equipped auditorium and a hygienic cafeteria. The institute is entering into its fourth year of establishment from the current academic year 2011-2012.

Rapidly changing international economic environment due to globalization has activated a greater need for management education for survival and excellence in today's open society engaging free trade and transactions. Rohidas Patil Institute of Management Studies stands for promoting academic excellence and rigorous discipline with sound practical exposure amongst the student community. Techniques such as conceptual teaching, group discussions, case study approach, research theme preparations, summer internship projects, presentations, management games, educational tours and workshops on the current management paradigms are used to ensure cognitive development of students, who are going to be managers of tomorrow. Lastly, I would like to conclude by stating that there is a schedule time for each one of us to go and God as a Pilot will guide us through death, as He has in life, as manifested greatly by Alfred Tennyson (1809-1892) in the year 1889 as “For, though from out our bourne of time and place, The flood may bear me far, I hope to see my Pilot face to face When I have crossed the bar”; because this is just a humble beginning but still a good deal of journey is to be covered in every sphere.
