Vision: Providing quality higher education to make students competent in the field of Accounting and finance, encouraging research culture among the students and enhancing skill among student to compete with the best in the industry.

NEP Implementation: In the year 2024-25, we implemented NEP 2020 for Part II students as per the guidelines of University of Mumbai. The Department is working in line with the spirit of NEP and ensuring smooth transition to a more flexible Holistic system of education. Students were given Field Projects and research projects to enhance their knowledge of real life scenarios hence reducing the distance between Academia and Industry.

Innovative methods of Formative Assessment are being practiced in the Department for Internal Evaluation with the Aim of embracing the Spirit of Student Centric and Practical Learning.

After an M.Com in Advanced Accountancy, you have strong opportunities in corporate finance (Financial Analyst, Controller, CFO), public accounting (Auditor, Tax Consultant, CA), banking (RBI Officer, PO), government (Income Tax Officer, AAO), investment (Investment Banker, Financial Planner), and academia (Lecturer/Professor), often boosted by professional certifications like CA, CFA, or ACCA for higher roles. 

Corporate & Private Sector Roles

  • Financial Analyst/Manager/Controller: Support investment, manage budgets, and oversee financial activities.
  • Auditor: Conduct internal/external audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Tax Consultant/Advisor: Specialize in tax planning and compliance for individuals/businesses.
  • Investment Banking: Work in capital raising and financial markets.
  • Forensic Accountant: Investigate financial fraud and embezzlement.
