Counselling cell Half Yearly Report 2017-18

The counselling cell organised one day workshop on 'Anapana- A technique of Meditation to attain concentration with Equanimity' on 15th September, 2017.

Anapana is the key determinant in elimination of Psycho-social behavioural problems in an individual on sustainable basis. It is a mental training to develop and strengthen mind to gain control over all the circumstances. It is a scientific technique, easy and practical; and devoid of spiritual, religious rites and rituals entities.

The counselling cell In charge introduced the session and explored the in-depth meaning of the workshop's title to the students. Mr. Amol Baviskar, who have attended 10 days Vipassana Meditation several times- mentored the session and explained the sitting postures to the students and not to regulate breathe but to observe the same.

The workshop was a fruitful event with over-whelming response from the students. It was conducted with the support of all the members of the counselling cell.

In the second term of this academic year it was decided to conduct seminar on increase use Smartphones and their effects on students in near future.In this regard the counselling cell conducted seminar on 'Smartphones and their detrimental effects on youths on 7th February 2018.

For the seminar Taiba Maida, psychologist and councellor was invited.She delivered lecture on uses as well as misuses of Smartphones.She briefed students on bad physical effects of Smartphones like, orthopedic problems involving spinal cord,back pain,

Ophthalmic problems including eye strain,eye pain,mental disorders including depression,headache,lack of concentration,sedentary lifestyle due to use of Smartphones and it's adverse effects on our health. She used power point presentation to make students aware regarding the same.

Principal Dr.V.N.Yadav, faculty of our college and students were present for the seminar.Councelling cell incharge began the session, introduced objectives of counselling cell of college, then all the programme including welcome of the guest and Principal, brief introduction of the topic, and vote of thanks was given by Prof. Virshree Bhoir in a well mannered. Other members of counselling cell Prof.Shashikant Maghade and Prof.Sunil Dapse supported in organizing the programme.
